I have gallbladder issues and cholesterol stones, and I've been taking milk thistle for six months. It has alleviated my symptoms and I no longer feel heaviness after meals. I take it once daily after breakfast, and it has greatly improved my condition.

Improved liver health

Good liver helper! I was ill with Covid and had to take a lot of antibiotics. To help my liver, my doctor recommended milk thistle. After reading reviews, I chose silymarin due to its higher milk thistle content along with turmeric. After two months, the pain in my right side disappeared. I believe it's essential for ongoing liver maintenance. I highly recommend it! Just remember to check for kidney stones.

Effective for stasis

Silymarin, an extract of milk thistle with turmeric, acts as a choleretic agent and can help with bile thinning. It’s not suitable for everyone, especially those with kidney stones. I used it for a month to address stagnation, and indeed it was effective. I also took additional supplements to support my liver.

Unpleasant side effects

After suffering from pain in my right side and cholecystitis, I tried a natural milk thistle supplement. Initially, I experienced significant discomfort, including stomach pains and vomiting, and had to stop taking it. The colour and strong turmeric smell were notable, but I need to consult my doctor about these terrible reactions, especially regarding kidney stones.

Mixed effects noted
I’ve been taking silymarin for years to support my liver. This time, I bought a brand with added turmeric. Unfortunately, I experienced a constant need to urinate, which was disruptive. While it may have cleared my kidneys, the overwhelming diuretic effect was unsuitable for me, so I ceased taking it.

Reduced uric acid

Helps lower uric acid. My rheumatologist's tests revealed elevated uric acid levels. I found that milk thistle can help reduce this. Elevated uric acid can lead to kidney stones, so it's vital to monitor it. I hope my experience proves useful.
